Do you know who your neighbours are? Last night over laundry I found out.
In turns out Hollywood legend Jeni Legon lives in the building.
In 1935, Jeni Legon became the first female African-American to obtain a major studio contract -- more specifically with MGM for the film Hooray for Love opposite Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson.
That was only the beginning. Legon would go on to work with stars such as Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, Ida James, Cab Calloway, Long John Baldry, Count Basie, Bojangles, Lena Horne and Dorothy Dandridge and many more.
